Financial Awareness Session Organised by KCA UK in Manchester
The Mangalorean Konkani community is one of the fastest-growing communities in the North-West of England. In recent years, a significant number of new families have moved to the region for employment and to build their future. Many are now considering important financial decisions such as purchasing their first home, planning investments, and securing their families' financial well-being. At the same time, families who have been settled in the region for several years are beginning to focus on retirement planning and long-term financial security.
Recognising these evolving needs, the Konkani Cultural Association UK (KCA UK) organised a Financial Awareness Session to provide community members with valuable financial insights and guidance.
The session was conducted by Guide Financial Services on 30 May 2026 at St. Mary's Church Hall, Levenshulme, Manchester. The programme commenced at 4:30 PM and was led by Mr. Jiwan Dhanik, Founder and Director; Mr. Rakesh Prakash, Operations Head; and Mr. Rajesh Dsa, Acquisitions and Alliances Head.
KCA UK President, Mr. Sujith Rodrigues, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of financial awareness and planning in today's changing economic environment.
The two-and-a-half-hour session was attended by representatives from 19 families. Participants actively engaged throughout the programme and made the most of the opportunity by asking insightful questions during an interactive Q&A session, which continued for over an hour.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by KCA UK General Secretary, Mr. Lawrence V. Barboza, where he thanked the KCA UK committee for the funding for this session, Guide Financial Services, and the volunteer work provided by Mrs. Marina Monis and Mr. Stany Rodrigues.
Refreshments were generously sponsored by Mrs. Jyothi Mendonca.

The Financial Awareness Session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, equipping community members with practical knowledge to make informed financial decisions for their future.
